The Work & The Wonder is a space devoted to intentional creativity — where art, reflection, and conversation invite you back to authentic relationship with yourself and the world around you.
My Creative Philosophy
The Work & The Wonder is an exploration of the &.
The balance between daily responsibility and inner life. Between who we really are, and who we are expected to be. I don’t believe we are meant to divide ourselves.
I am an artist & a designer & a writer.
I am a professional & a beginner.
I am the teacher & the student.
This space was created as a practice of integration.
A place to experiment & express.
Creative practice, to me, is not separate from life. It’s a way of moving through it with more awareness. It is not only a practice but a relationship with your senses, emotions, inner voice and the world around you. Like any relationship it needs to be nurtured to thrive.
When we make space to create — without performance, without perfection — we reconnect. With ourselves. With others. With the world around us.
A healthy creative practice doesn’t just produce art. It fosters a more grounded way of living.
My Story
Reconnecting with creativity
I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. Art has always been my first language. A way to process, explore, and make sense of the world.
I studied fine art with a focus in graphic design, where visual clarity and problem-solving shaped how I approach creative work. After college, I spent years designing professionally, building websites, and crafting digital experiences. It sharpened my eye and my thinking, but over time, that work pulled me away from my personal expression.
Returning to painting and creative experimentation came after a period of grief. It was a way to reconnect — with myself, with my creative voice, and with the world around me — and to rediscover joy in making. Through this process, and my continued education in Expressive Arts, I’ve learned to notice where I’m guarded, where I perform, and where I’m disconnected. I’ve discovered the value of creating without expectation, of exploring without judgment, and of showing up alongside others without pretense.
The Work & The Wonder grew from that process. It’s a space to make, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that sometimes get hidden in daily life. It’s for experimentation, for exploration, and for discovering the small and subtle ways creativity can deepen how we live.
What Is Expressive Art?
The Art of Noticing
Expressive arts is a process-based approach to creativity.
It isn’t about making something “good” or mastering technique. It’s about using art — color, shape, texture, movement, and materials — as a way to explore yourself, your emotions, and your relationships.
Through expressive art, we begin to strengthen our awareness. The art becomes a mirror for what’s happening inside and a bridge to what’s happening outside.
You don’t need experience or skill to participate. You only need willingness to explore.
In sessions, expressive art can help you:
Reconnect with your creative self
Notice where you’re holding tension or performing
Experiment and take creative risks
Experience insight through making
It’s not therapy, and it’s not about instruction. It’s about process, discovery, and connection — with yourself, others, and the world around you.
